Full Text

BOSTON, December 28.

By the brig Hope, Capt. Page, arrived at Cape-Cod, in 48 days from l'Orient, in France, we have received advices which enable us to assure our readers, that all differences between the courts of France and England are happily accommodated. Thus those two rival powers, contrary to the expectations of many on this side the Atlantic, have consented, jointly, to sacrifice their differences on the altar of reconciliation. We have, however, to sympathize with the Goddesses of LIBERTY, for the loss of a once favorite branch from the towering plant of FREEDOM, lopped off by the blasting hand of a Prussian despot. But it is our earnest prayer,

That tyranny's dark cloud may soon decay;
And freedom brighten in unfading day;
Th' extensive world with one consent combine
To pay their homage at great concord's shrine.
