Full Text

Mr. Randolph is in high favor with John Bull, as will appear by the following extract. What with great company, high living, stars and garters we very much fear that the republican simplicity of the honorable 'candidate for the Presidency' will be seriously endangered.

"On Wednesday Mr. Randolph, the late candidate for the office of President of the United States of America, who lately arrived in this city for the benefit of his health, dined with Admiral Sir J. H. Whitshed, K. C. B. commander in chief at Portsmouth. Every suitable attention was paid to this distinguished gentleman; he visited the Royal George yacht, and ships in the harbor, and afterwards proceeded to Ryde." (London Sun, June 24.
