Feb. 2. We are informed, that the ceremony of consecrating the American Bishops will be privately performed at Lambeth next Sunday, after which they propose immediately to set off for America, to communicate the sacred effects of it to their brethren, that in future they may have no occasion to go so far from home to kindle their episcopal torch.

Doctor Prevost, one of the American Bishops, was bred in the university of Cambridge, has a large acquaintance in this country, by whom he is much esteemed, and has the general character of being a man of learning and moderation.

Feb. 10. Yesterday the Bishop of New-York and the Bishop of Philadelphia were consecrated at Lambeth palace.
