ALEXANDRIA, September 11.

Extract of a letter from Philadelphia, dated September 8. 1794.

"A letter received here mentions General Wayne having obtained a victory over the hostile Indians and Simcoe--he has taken a number of warriors. From many circumstances it is universally credited."

[We have received a Philadelphia morning paper of the 9th, but it makes no mention of this affair: however, in the last paragraph under the Pittsburgh head, in the Mirror of this day, a battle between Gen. Wayne and the Indians is anticipated which is a circumstance that strengthens the probability of the report.]
