THE RESULT.

Speaking of the result of the election, the Georgia Federal Union says: The enemy's loss amounts to nothing. They staked nothing: expected nothing and got nothing. Nothing added to nothing is nothing. Nothing taken from nothing leaves nothing. Blessed are they that expect nothing for they will not be disappointed. Sam's case stands about thus—No North, no South, no East, no West no honor, no office, no money, no sympathy, no nothing!

As for Fremont, he was used as a mere cat's-paw. Ninety-nine out of every hundred men who voted for him, believed him totally unfit for the office, and felt ashamed for the act. They have lost nothing in Fremont, but they struggled for the control of Uncle Sam's big money box with its millions of bright dollars, and they didn't get it. Sore indeed is the disappointment to them. The piteous shrieks they uttered when assured of their loss, throws far into the shade all the dismal howls for bleeding Kansas. We will now hear no more of broken handed Sumner and bleeding Kansas Jim Lane and border ruffians. Sumner will get well at once—and Jim Lane and contributions to Kansas will never be heard of
