The membership of the First Baptist Church has scheduled a reception honoring teachers who have joined the faculties of the various schools for the first time this year for 8:30 p. m. Sunday in the cafeteria of Memorial Junior High School.
Under the Sponsorship of the Business Women's Circle of the Women's Missionary Union, the reception will take place immediately following the evening service which begins at 7:30 p. m.
The teachers have been invited to be special guests at the service.
The committee has urged that members and friends of the church attend the evening service and the reception in order to have a part in welcoming the new teachers to our community.
In letters which have been sent to the teachers, the pastor of the church, The Rev. Harold H. Link, after expressing a preliminary welcome to the city, said: "You have come into our community to share the responsibility as a laborer in a common task—to help mold the lives of our boys and girls. We urge you to attend the services of your church regularly. This will enable you to find strength, new friends and a blessing from God."
