Lawrence Donohue, a temporary ticket-seller, in the absence of Mr. Kirby, who went to Boston on Monday, left the ticket office at Adelaide Park momentarily last Monday afternoon to witness the 10 inning struggle between the Royals and the Grays. In his absence a colored boy pried open the ticket office window and purloined a sum of money amounting to $13. It was the first time in 10 years that Treasurer Kirby was absent from the grounds during the progress of a game and it is the first time any money has been taken. A small boy attempted to tell one of the six patrolmen, stationed outside the grounds about the theft, but he was driven away from the gate and no credence placed in his statements. The officers are keeping a close lookout for the miscreant and it is possible that he will be apprehended in the near future.
