PHILADELPHIA, July 4.

A Letter from Detroit of the 25th of May, says, "By Indians who are just now arrived Express from William Tucker, an Indian Trader, we have the disagreeable News that the Sloop Beaver, which sailed from hence the 5th Instant, for Niagara, is cast away upon the Rocks about 10 Leagues below Sandusky, and that Capt. Jacobson, his Crew, and ten Passengers, in all 15, have perished. The Barge was found ashore all smashed to pieces, and a small Trunk with our Letters drove up on the Beach, many of them lost and several others damaged and illegible : There were on board about £.3000 in Pelttry, a large Quantity of Flour for Niagara."
