ELECTORS of President and Vice PRESIDENT.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communication:

Richmond Va. Nov. 30th, 1824

SIR At a meeting of the Electors this day at 3 o'clock at the Capitol in the City of Richmond. for the purpose of voting for a president of the U. States the list of the said electors was called over, when all appeared to be present except Gen John Purnall of Prince Edward.--I therefore have the honor of communicating through you to the House of Delegates. that Gen John Purnall is absent at three o'clock this day from his seat in the Electoral College of Va.

On motion of Mr. Carrington of Charlotte, the House resolved to proceed immediately with the Senate, to elect by joint ballot. an Elector in the place of Gen Purnall. And Mr Carrington was requested to inform the Senate of the adoption of the said resolution, and request their concurrence in the same.

A communication was then received from the Senate by Mr. Braxton, concurring in the resolution.

Mr. Carrington: of C nominated Col Joseph Wyatt, of the county of Charlotte, now a member of the Senate and in favor of the election of W. H. Crawford. as President of the U. S:

No other person being put in nomination, the ballots stood--Col. Wyatt 124: Scattering 3. And Col. Wyatt was thereupon declared elected.

December 1. 1824

The Electors met. and unanimously voted for W. H Crawford of Georgia for President and Nathaniel Macon of North Carolina for Vice President for the next 4 years.
