Young Gloucester Man and a Supply of Ham and Eggs Missing.
A family on Belmont street has been looking for a young man a relative of theirs from Gloucester, ever since last Saturday. and they owe his disappearance to a postal card.
The young man's name is Snow and he recently married into the family, and he wrote his Belmont street relatives a day or so before Easter Sunday from Gloucester that he was going to call upon them and that he would bring with him several dozen eggs. a home cured ham, and quite a sum of money. the cash was from the settlement of an insurance company, one of the Gloucester relatives having passed away.
The Belmont street folks had never seen their new relatives nor had the new relatives ever seen the Belmont street folks. So he told them in the postal card that he would arrive in the city from Gloucester, on such a train and so as to make it easy for them to find him among the many, he would wear a red flannel shirt.
Under ordinary circumstances the Belmont street folks would not care to entertain any one at their home on Easter Sunday. who wore a red shirt but as the fellow with the red shirt was to bring their eggs. ham, and cash. did not take the matter so much to heart.
The Belmont street folks went to the depot at the appointed hour. and were somewhat surprised to find that not less than four men got off the same train wearing red shirts. but saw none that had any parcels that looked like eggs, or ham. and it is now believed that some one other than the Belmont street folks met Mr. Snow at the depot and led him astray. for word has been received from the folks at Gloucester that he has not returned home.
There is, however. a package at the Union station from Gloucester that looks as if it might contain eggs and ham.
