The Rev Michael Mulcahy Visiting Friends in This Section.
The Rev Michael Mulcahy, of Tralee, county Kerry, Ireland, who has been the guest of John J. O'Sullivan, of South Elm street, and John O'Brien, of Baldwin street, celebrated the 9 o'clock mass at the Immaculate Conception church yesterday, and later was entertained at the parochial residence by the Rev Father Slocum. Last evening a number of his friends made a call upon him at the residence of Mr O'Brien, on Baldwin street, to bid him a farewell and the occasion will always be remembered by the distinguished visitor and all others who were present. This morning, accompanied by his cousins, the Misses H. O'Brien and Anna O'Sullivan, he left for Worcester and Boston, where he will remain until Friday when he will leave for Australia. Father Mulcahy was very much pleased with the reception tendered to him in Waterbury. Yesterday he was shown about the city and Naugatuck and was delighted with the appearance of the mammoth factory buildings, splendid churches and schools and other evidences of prosperity which a stranger is quick to notice in all parts of the Naugatuck valley and especially in Waterbury.
