Full Text

Amsterdam, Nov. 28. There never was known so sudden a Fall of any Market, as there has been of that for all Kinds of Gunnery, Muskets, Powder, Balls, Wooden Legs, False Arms, and Tomahawks, (with which we have constantly supplied the French) since Monday the 5th Day of October last. Indeed, the Price of Powder has been somewhat better within this Week; but, by the Quantity of Rosin, Pitch, Tar, Saltpetre, and other Materials, the French Merchants buy at the same Time, we suppose it is purchased for the Purpose of some grand Fireworks. It is rumoured here, that the present Opinion in England is, that there will be no War between that Nation and Spain; and a French Merchant of this City, has sent over Orders to Monr. Bully's Broker in Change Alley, to buy Stock to a much larger Amount, than what Monr. Bully and Comp. were concerned in upon his Arrival in England; and, it is thought, this large Commission is owing to a Letter our Merchant has received from his Countryman at Paris.
