PANAMA CITY, REPUBLIC OF PANAMA-(ANP)- Thousands of Negro children, especially those of West Indian ancestry, are being benefited by the joint undertaking of the Institute of Inter-American Affairs and Panama's Ministry of Education in the cooperative educational program to develop technical skills.

The Cooperative Educational program (Servicio Cooperativo Inter-Americano de Educacion) has been in operation here since 1946. Six projects have already been completed and currently, two broad projects are underway in schools in Panama City, Colon, Divisa and David.

The Institute of Inter-American Affairs is an agency of the U.S. Department of State, Wallace C. Cumming, vocational specialist of the institute, explained recently. It is specifically charged with seeking to strengthen friendship and understanding among the people of the American republics through collaborating with these governments on technical programs.
