Full Text

Mr Webster. In noticing the contemplated dinner to this gentleman in Baltimore, the Raleigh, N. C. Register, says:

"It is thus that the people delight to honor those Representatives who, casting off the trammels of party, exert their influence not to advance the interests of any particular individual or district, but who legislate for the glory and welfare of the whole Union. There is not, we believe, an individual in the United States who stands higher in the estimation of the public than Mr Webster, whether as it regards brilliancy of talents, extent of knowledge, comprehensiveness of views, elevation and rectitude of spirit, and general aptitude for business."
