FIRE IN SECOND STORY OF UNION PACIFIC.

Fire was discovered in room 50, on the second floor of the Union Pacific hotel, at 2:50 this afternoon, and in fifteen minutes it had been extinguished, without great damage to the hotel. The fire department made a very quick run, but was informed in a minute or two that the fire was out, later the trouble being again located. A stiff wind blew from the south and would have caused the loss of the building but for the promptness of the department. The loss from fire and water will be from $350 to $500. The fire started in a bed room immediately over sample room No. 1, by a spark from an engine, and worked its way between the walls of the building.
