FORT DEVENS, Mass. - PFC William A. Robinson, whose wife, Rose lives on Fort Village Extension, Key West, Florida, is participating with 5000 soldiers of the 74th Regimental Combat Team in the First Army's Exercise Shoe-String at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts.
The exercise is an experiment in maintaining high training standards on a "shoe-string" budget.
During the exercise, men of the combat team will be attacked by an aggressor force which will simulate raids and strikes at outposts.
Private First Class Robinson, son of Mrs. Dora Wilson, 914 Emma Street, is a cook in Headquarters Battery of the team's 76th Field Artillery Battalion at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He entered the Army in February 1951 and completed basic training at Camp Polk, Louisiana.
