Miss Lucy Jackson, of Utica, is visiting friends in the city.
Theodore Nichols and his two boys took in the Labor day celebration yesterday.
Stock inspector T. M. Shaw went to Moore yesterday and inspected a bunch of horses.
Pat Nihill came in from Moore last night on a flying trip, leaving for home this morning.
William Blackford left this morning for Great Falls on legal business. He expects to return Saturday.
J. L. Stewart is in Lewistown attending to a carload shipment of ore from the old War Eagle property at Maiden.
Judge E. K. Cheadle and Marshall H. Huffine were in attendance at the veterans' reunion and both have returned.
Charles Fasel and sister of Kendall were in the city yesterday, returning this afternoon.
Cecil Copeland who was called to Kansas by the death of his father, returned to Lewistown Saturday evening.
It's a treat to ride to the depot in Pinkley's new cab.
Billy Vannest last week killed an enormous eagle over near Utica. The bird measured over eight feet from tip to tip.
John P. Barnes was slightly indisposed the latter part of the week but has about recovered much to the satisfaction of his friends.

Dr. Symmes, Dr. Wilson and W. W. Willard returned on Sunday after spending a pleasant vacation on the ranch of Mr. Willard at Rogers.
Charles Edwards, of Gilt Edge is in the city. Mr. Edwards states that the Cone Butte mining district is showing up extremely well this fall.
Thomas Bromley paid a visit to the city yesterday and mentioned that the crops in the Castle Butte district are an entire success this year.

Miss Adeleine Thompson returned to Lewistown on Friday last and will again resume the position she has so well filled in the Lewistown schools.
Mayor Jesse Pinkley, the popular liveryman, went to Helena last week and purchased of the Helena Cab Co. a fine Landau. It is an elegant vehicle.
Miss Linn, formerly of Kendall, has accepted the position of teacher of the Grass Range school. Miss Linn will prove a welcome addition to Grass Range society.
M. L. Woodman and wife, J. T. Wunderlin and Miss Loa Barbee left this morning for the Portland exposition. They expect to be at home by the time the county fair opens.
Miss Orpha Noble, one of Lewistown's charming young ladies, returned Saturday evening from the coast where she spent the entire summer.
She visited the fair and had a splendid time generally on the trip.

John R. Cook, of the Kendall Townsite Co., while in the city on Friday mentioned that the big diamond drill which is to be operated on the Townsite property, is expected to arrive in a few days.

While at the veterans reunion last week Judge E. K. Cheadle met Dr. Bruning, who was Company I's surgeon during the campaign in the Philippines. The Judge says that the reunion, while not so well attended as that of last year, was eminently successful in every respect.
An effort is being made to obtain the band of the 24th infantry for fair only second to the Sousa band and it would be a decided treat for the residents of Fergus county to hear them.
The band, with the 24th regiment is stationed at Fort Harrison and it is thought that arrangements could be made to have them here during the days of the fair.

Hon. E. W. King spent yesterday in Moore on business connected with the Citizens' Bank of Moore, of which he is president. There will be a meeting of the directors of the bank held in Moore today and the contract for the new bank building will be let.
It is probable that the plans of T. J. Tubb will be accepted and the work on the building will be started this week. The bank will be open for business next Monday in temporary quarters.
Mrs. Moore of Phillipsburg, one of the finest vocalists in this state, will sing several songs at the concert which is to be given next Thursday evening in Culver's hall by the ladies of the Episcopal church.
Mrs. Moore has studied voice culture under some of the most noted teachers of the country and a number of Lewistown people who have had the opportunity of hearing her sing speak most highly of her vocal accomplishments.
