The stable belonging to Henry Schoppaul, was entered by somebody on Sunday night, and the route wagon was "gone through" by the party. A very pleasant discrimination was made by the rascals (it is likely there were several of them). Owing to a defect in their digestive organs they did not interfere with the mince pies, and a proper appreciation of their social standing led them to avoid the penny cakes and ginger bread. The fancy pies, spongy bread and enticing cakes were gobbled. As also were the plates holding the pies. Mr. Schoppaul being of a philanthropic as well as enterprising turn, desires to notify the raiders that their preference in pie and cake shall be carefully studied in the future. He respectfully requests that they return the plates and have them refilled. A very good idea, but it is not likely to be adopted.
