The chairs of Institutes and Materia Medica, in the University of Maryland, having been vacated by the resignation of the former incumbents, at a meeting of the Trustees, held on the 9th instant, the subjects of the chair of Institutes were assigned to the chairs of Anatomy, Practice of Physic, and Materia Medica, and Professor Robley Dunglison, of the University of Virginia, was unanimously elected to the chair of Materia Medica, Therapeutics, Hygiene, and Medical Jurisprudence; which he has accepted.
