"Hello, Buster Lindsay", Lands Him In Jail

"Hello, Buster Lindsay," a friendly greeting from some well intentioned friend, caused the arrest of Emery W. (Buster) Lindsay, 426 Ronda Street, late Wednesday.

According to Bernard Schafer J. taxi driver, Lindsay hired a cab in Minneapolis to take him to St. Paul. Arriving in front of a beer tavern Lindsay is alleged to have given Schafer a check for $25 signed J. Jamie, receiving his change.

After the transaction as the driver started to drive off, someone called out, "Hello, Buster Lindsay." This aroused the cab driver's suspicion and he called police who arrested Lindsay.

Police records indicate Lindsay has served terms in the city workhouse on a similar charge. Friends of Lindsay assert he was under the influence of liquor at the time of the Wednesday occurrence.
