A circular letter from Tobias Lear, esq. dated Tunis, 1st March, 1807.

SIR,

I have the honour and satisfaction to inform you that the differences which existed between the United States of America and the regency of Tunis, and which on the departure of the Tunisian ambassador from the U. States, threatened to terminate in a rupture between the two nations, are now happily and honourably settled. And the commercial intercourse between the citizens of the United States and this regency, may be carried on with as much security and advantage as that of any other nation with whom the bey is in friendship.
