Delegates to the Atlanta Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal church will return to the Warren Memorial M. E. Church Greensferry and Mildred, the Rev. Evans M. Hurley, pastor, today, following interesting all day sessions Thursday on the Gammon and Clark campuses.
The Thursday meetings were held at the South Atlanta institutions in recognition of the celebration of Founders' Day at Gammon Theological Seminary.
Many high churchmen gathered for the program drawn by the dual occasion. Among the outstanding leaders were Dr. N E. Davis of Columbus, Ohio, representing the board of hospitals and homes; Dr. M. J. Holmes of Chicago, Ill., representing the board of education of the M. E church, Dr. E. J. Hammons and Dr. A.C. Dewey of the Georgia conference.
The conference heard addresses by both President Davage of Clark and President King of Gammon At intervals, the famous chorus of Clark university rendered special selections under the direction of Prof DeKoven Killingsworth.
Bishop F T. Keeney, who is presiding in his princely, yet brotherly manner, delivered a special devotional address with the laymen of the church in mind.
At 2:30 in the afternoon the conference joined in the Founders' Day celebration of Gammon with an impressive service being held in Thirkield Hall.
Dr. King presided over this event while among those on the speaker's platform were Dr. Thomas F. Holgate dean emeritus of Northwestern university, the principal speaker; Forrester B. Washington of the Atlanta School of Social Work; and Dr. W. A. Bell of the CME church.
At the close of this service, the formal naming of the library in memory of Bishop Gilbert Haven, one of the leading spirits in the formation of Gammon took place.
A tablet to the memory of Bishop Haven (resident bishop until his death in 1870) was unveiled. Musical selections were furnished by

the Clark chorus Thursday evening. Bishop Keeny, who is to be retired at the general conference next spring, was honored by his co-workers at a touching semi-farewell event. This coming year will find the beloved prelate stepping down after many years of service to his church. Appointments will be read Sunday.
