Double
Barrelled Shot Gun.
Tuesday afternoon a crowd of negroes were seated in Clark's barbershop, on Main street, conversing as negroes do. Among the number was Will Davis, driver for Weyler bakery. Coming toward the parties was Dave Hardiman, who drives the delivery wagon for Fox Bros, with a double-barrel shotgun looking for trouble, or rather for Will Davis. Jim Jones, a barber saw the man advancing with the gun, and thought trouble was in the air. He reached for Hardiman just as he had leveled the gun on Davis. The gun was wrenched from the negro, and his arrest followed. A woman, Hardiman's wife, was the cause of the trouble. Hardiman was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor and was discharged by Justice Vance this morning.
