WASHINGTON, Oct. 10.—British, Japanese and American warships are today scouring both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans in search of two German raiders who are reported engaged in destroying commerce in Atlantic and Pacific waters.
According to the reports reaching here one of the raiding vessels is manned by the crew of the German merchantship Seeadler which was stranded on Mopelia island, in the South Pacific shortly after the beginning of the war.
A launch formerly belonging to the Seeadler is being used by the raiders in their operations. The other raider is believed to be an enemy manned former French schooner Lutteur which the Germans have seized. The two vessels are keeping well to the south, with one in both oceans. One vessel was seen a few days ago off the Brazilian coast and the other was recently reported in the vicinity of one of the Islands of the ocean. Dozens of warships are now engaged in the hunt for the raiders and their capture is expected soon.
