PROBLEMS DISCUSSED
Fruit growers in Kent county who are interested in discussing their orchard problems, with special reference to insect and disease control and the trend of the commercial fruit industry in this section of the United States, are invited to meet in the Fruitland Grange Hall in Camden on Monday evening, February 10, at 6:30 o'clock.
This discussion will be in the nature of a supper-meeting, similar to the one which was held last February, and those who desire to attend this affair are requested to make their reservations not later than Friday of this week. The supper will be served by the ladies of Fruitland Grange with Mrs. Arthur F. Walker as chairman of the banquet committee.
Plans for this discussion meeting were made by County Agent Russell E. Wilson in cooperation with the State Board of Agriculture and a committee of fruit growers including A. Bailey Thomas, Arthur F. Walker, H. Reedy Voshell, Herbert C. Richardson, Nelson Emory, Frank W. Richardson and Hammon E. Coverdale, from whom tickets may be obtained at the price of 50 cents.
Dr. F. P. Cullinan, peach specialist of the United States Department of Agriculture, will serve as the featured discussion leader as the guest of the Horticultural department of the University of Delaware and will be available to answer questions which growers may have pertaining to this fruit crop, such as recommended varieties and cultural practices.
In addition to Dr. Cullinan, other fruit specialists who will be present to take part in the discussion include Dr. T. F. Manns, plant pathologist and soil bacteriologist; Dr. L. A. Stearns, entomologist; Dr. E. W. Grave, research horticulturist; Dr. K. J. Kadow, associate plant pathologist of the University of Delaware, and plant pathologist for the State Board of Agriculture, and Dean George L. Schuster, director of the Delaware agricultural extension service.

Under sponsorship of Delaware county agricultural agents and cooperating organizations, two speech-free, evening discussion meetings for the State's fruit growers are scheduled for February 10 and 11.
Agricultural agents George M. Worrilow, New Castle County, and Russell E. Wilson, Kent County, are urging fruit growers in their counties to attend the dinner meeting on Monday, February 10, in Fruitland Grange Hall, Camden.
Wilson has been working with a committee of growers to make arrangements for the meeting. The discussion get-together of Sussex County fruit growers will be held at Bridgeville High School on the night of Tuesday, February 11.
Sussex County agricultural agent Russell Snyder is working with Walton C. Smith, chairman of the Bridgeville Kiwanis Club agricultural committee, to stage the second of the two discussion meetings.
Dr. F. P. Cullinan, peach specialist of the U. S. becoming more popular among farmers, as they feel that considerably more information can be obtained from such discussions than from meetings at which speeches are given, as those who attend discussion groups have the opportunity to talk over their farm problems with each other and with specialists. Those fruit growers who cannot be present for the supper may come in afterward and take part in the discussion.
