820 Needed in Army Nurse Corps

There are 820 vacancies in the army nurse corps, announced by Maj. Gen. Raymond W. Bliss recently as he requested reserve officers of all sections of the medical department to make applications for active duty tours.

Pointing out that all services are on a voluntary basis, the surgeon general explained that 1,411 captains and lieutenants are required this month.

The medical service corps requires 265 officers, the medical corps 203, the women's medical service corps 75, the veterinary corps 29 and the dental corps 19.

Application forms may be obtained from the office of the surgeon general or from any army or air force recruiting station, and should be forwarded to the surgeon general of the army, Washington 25, D. C.
