PAYING LEGISLATORS TO SPEND OUR MONEY

It used to be that we paid our Congressmen, Senators and State Legislators to protect our pursestrings and for their conservative abilities. Today however, it seems exactly the opposite, and we apparently are paying them to spend our money.

We fully realize the importance of keeping abreast of times, particularly in this fast-changing day and age, but in many instances we find our solons, year after year, cobbling up antiquated legislation in an effort to modernize impracticable laws that are of no value, or of value to only a select few.

This may be due to the fact that so much petty legislation is introduced that the solons lack the time for adequate study of the proposals.

This seems to be a record year for spending legislation as well as one for the non-support of the taxpayer's pocketbook.
