Revival of the Middle Ages.

Decatur, Ind., Sept. 29.—The residents of this city are wild with excitement over the occurrences of the last few days. The difficulty in securing juries to punish criminals caused a mob Friday night to visit the residence of George Richards, a brother of Fred Richards, who is sentenced to be hanged for the murder of Mr. Lamon, and the residence of a relative, and both men were stretched three times to frighten them into telling what they are supposed to know of the murder of Amos Backesto, for which crime Charles Werst is now on trial. They did not tell anything and were released. The excitement grows each minute, and the end is not yet.
