Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Barbadoes, June 7.

"This goes by the True-Love, Moulton, to inform you that of late the French have taken into their Heads to stop and detain all Vessels that come within three Leagues of Martinico, and endeavour to condemn them under idle frivolous Pretexts. This has been the Case of a Vessel bound hither from Tortuga, and another from Tobago; which is very hard and unjust, considering that the Currents are sometimes so strong, that Ships cannot avoid sailing near Martinico."
