Tiber Employment Near 400 Mark

Employment figures on the Tiber dam near Chester approached the 400 mark during the second week in May with prime contractors James and Wunderlich starting a second shift. Information comes from the Liberty County Times, published at Chester. A. J. Cheff is working a full crew on the irrigation tunnel and Superior Steel company has a full crew. Spillway excavation is approximately 350,000 yards with 500,000 remaining. Concrete placement in the Tiber diversion tunnel will be started with the recent completion of the screening and mixing plants. Bridges to replace those swept out two weeks ago will be ready for use this week. Completed is the H. I. Aubrey contract for James and Wunderlich barracks and commissary. Contractor A. J. Cheff has started excavation on the irrigation canal portal.
