N. C. MEIGS, Editor:
Maj. N. H. McLean, nephew of the late Judge McLeod, Chief of Gen. Burnside's Staff at Cincinnati, has been relieved of his command, and directed to report in person and without delay to the Commander at Fort Vancouver, Washington Territory. This order of exile has taken the Major and his friends by surprise.
It appears that he had been charged with disloyalty, and a petition forwarded to the Secretary of War asking his removal, so says a dispatch from Washington to the N. Y. Times.
