Lone Ranger Hoss.
Silver, In "Follies"

HOLLYWOOD

Silver, famous horse who answered the "Heigh-ho" call of the Lone Ranger on the screen, is a glorified steed in "Ziegfeld Follies"—and what's more, instead of a rip-snortin' cowboy astride him, he has the glamorous Lucille Ball for a rider.

Silver, with his tail braided and tied with six pink satin bows, a pink ostrich feather between his ears, will be featured in the Merry-Go-Round number with ten other white horses, the Ziegfeld Girls, stars Fred Astaire and Miss Ball.

Night club raconteur and mimic makes his movie debut auspiciously in the role of a worker in the yard, and pretty acrobatic dancer Miriam LaVelle, last seen in "The Gang's All Here" with Alice Faye, as well as the comic dance satirists Mata and Hari, are also included in the roster of specialty acts.

FROM WAR TO GLAMOUR
John Florey, Life news photographer, recently returned from covering the war fronts of Guadalcanal, Tobruk and Bougainville, passed this week covering "Ziegfeld Follies".
