Orono, Me., Mar. 16.-A four day basketry school is one of the new features of this year's Farmers' Week which is being held at the College of Agriculture, March 31, April 1, 2 and 3. Every morning from 8.30 to 10.20 instruction will be given in the making of all sorts and kinds of wicker baskets and trays. The work will be under the direction of Miss Louise Bancroft, Assistant Professor of Home Economics, at the University and Miss Rosalind M. Jewett, Home Demonstration Agent, leader, extension service. Another interesting meeting that will take place during the week will be that of the Maine Beekeepers Association which is to be held on Wednesday, April 1, with H. W. Mathews, of Hampden, presiding. A. W. Yates, breeder of queen bees, of Hartford, Conn., will be the principal speaker at this meeting, talking upon the subjects of Foul Brood and How Controlled and Wintering Problems of the Beekeeper. George A. Yeaton, State Horticulturist, of Augusta, will discuss the ways in which the state helps the beekeeper while H. D. Smith of Bangor, will explain his methods in Migratory Beekeeping. F. L. Mason, a beekeeper of Mechanic Falls, will deliver an illustrated lecture. The session will close with a business meeting and general discussion.
