PRETORIA, South Africa- (ANP)-Flushed with the victory of the Nationalist party in the elections held in Southwest Africa last week, Prime Minister Daniel F. Malan told newspapers here on Friday that he could now proceed with his segregation policies and also defy the United Nations.
"Most important of all, the UN now knows that Southwest Africa is tired of interference from the outside and wants to be free to walk along the path that it has chosen for itself in quiet and peace."
Some Nationalists, feeling their oats after the electoral victory, telephoned taunting remarks to the farm where opposition leader, Field Marshall Jan Christian Smuts, is ill.
