On the 18th Instant, Colonel Kleist dislodged the Austrians from Great Schirna, in Order to observe the Movements making by their Troops in the Environs of Freyberg.
On the 5th in the Morning all our advanced Posts, from Siebeneichen near Meissen, as far as Roswein near Mulda, were attacked at the same Instant, and compelled to retire with some Loss. We maintained ourselves nevertheless in the Villages of Teutsch-Bohra, Eule and Elgerdorff, which cover the Camp of Katzenhouer.
The Design of the Austrians was to have rendered themselves Masters of the Heights of Nosen, and to have marched 12 Battalions behind Roswein.
On the 7th they were dislodged from this last Place by General Seydlitz.
Our Posts being at present very considerable on the other Side of the Mulda, the Movements of the Enemy gives us less Uneasiness, and we think no longer of changing our Position.
We made about 60 Prisoners in the Affair of the 5th, and lost near as many on our Part.
