EMPLOYEES OF VEPCO CELEBRATE

Employees of the Virginia Electric & Power Co. held their annual Christmas Party with a dinner at the Terminal Hotel in Weldon Friday night.

65 gathered around the tables for a turkey dinner, after which Christmas presents, each with appropriate verse, were given to every person present.

Music and singing were enjoyed for an hour.

Three old-timers held the center of the stage during the evening's entertainment. They were W. H. Anthony of Weldon, who is now on pension, after 30 years service with the company; Uncle Peter Harris, who has worked for the company for 29 years and six months, and is still working; and J. T. Chase, Vice President, who has worked with the company one week longer than Mr. Harris; in fact, Mr. Harris was the first man Mr. Chase employed.
