Senate Ratifies Mexican Water Treaty, 76 to 10

WASHINGTON. April 18. (UP)-

The senate Wednesday ratified the Mexican water treaty.

The vote was 76 to 10, well exceeding the two-thirds majority necessary for ratification.

Shortly before the final vote, the senate rejected a reservation proposed by Sen. Albert W. Hawkes (R.) N. J., which would have decreed that the treaty's terms could not interfere with any valid water contract signed between the United States and any of its political subdivisions.
