WASHINGTON CITY

FRIDAY, JUNE

Yesterday the CORNER STONE of the Washington THEATRE was laid by John P. Van Ness, Esquire, at the request of the Theatre Committee. Previously to laying the stone a procession, preceded by the Italian band of music, and composed of Mr. Hadfield Architect, accompanied by Mr Latrobe, of the Theatre committee, and of a number of respectable gentlemen, citizens of Washington, moved from Morin's Tavern to the ground, where the ceremony was performed, after a few pertinent remarks from Mr. Van Ness.
