Huge Relief Fund
New York City (ILNS)—John Sullivan, president of the New York State Federation of Labor, has been appointed by Gov. Roosevelt a member of the temporary emergency relief administration commission of three which is to administer the $20,000,000 unemployment fund voted by the recent special session of the legislature. The other two members named by the governor are Jesse Isador Straus, New York city department store owner, and Philip J. Wickerser, of Buffalo, a banker and insurance man. Straus is chairman.
Principal headquarters of the emergency relief administration will be in Albany, with a branch headquarters here.
Sullivan has been active in the labor movement since 1897, when he joined the Brewery Workers' Union. He has been president of the state Federation of Labor since 1927.
