Major General Byron Nominated By President For Reserve Officers Corps

The name of Maj. Gen. Joseph W. Byron, president of W. D. Byron & Son, Williamsport, and former director of the Army Special Services Division, was recently sent to the Senate, with the names of 47 other generals, for confirmation to the Officers Reserve Corps. The Army announced that the officers will be on the inactive status and are considered eminently qualified for appointment by the War Department. They will receive no pay while on reserve status.
