UNITED NATIONS, N Y. -(INS)-
The United States strongly warned a score of western nations today against falling into a communist "trap" in the concerted action to win acceptance of the Indian compromise plan for peace in Korea.
The U. S cautioned that acceptance of the Indian plan in unrevised form would give the communists the opportunity to consider the firm western stand on voluntary repatriation is weakening and that additional concessions can be exacted at the panmunjom truce talks.
U. S diplomats are stressing these points in individual conferences with signatories of the American - sponsored 21 - power "peace with honor" resolution.
They are asserting that unless the Indian plan is revised in at least one basic point, the Panmunjom prisoner of war deadlock will be prolonged indefinitely to the irreparable advantage of the communists.
The United States is warning that the process of disposing of war prisoners, as outlined by India, could result in a decision by the so-called political commission, contained in the Panmunjom armistice agreement, to send home at the point of a bayonet 100,000 POW's now unwilling to be repatriated.
