Our informant says that a wedding had brought together a great crowd of people, both American and Mexican, and all went well until Francisco Nolan, who had been drinking freely, became involved in a quarrel with two men (brothers) named Rovale.
Pistols were drawn but through the interference of friends the trouble was passed over for the time.
More ardent spirits were brought into requisition and bad blood began to show itself again.
Nothing could quiet Nolan this time and so he engaged in a hand to hand fight with one of the Rovale boys.
In this encounter guns were again drawn and Nolan shot and killed both of the boys.
The excitement was so intense that Nolan, taking advantage of the commotion, escaped.
A party headed by the sheriff of Mora county at once went in pursuit.
They captured the murderer near Mora and he was taken to the county jail, where he now lies awaiting the action of the grand jury.
Great excitement prevails in the neighborhood and fears of lynching are entertained.
The sheriff, however, says that the law will be allowed to take its course.
