The cooks' and waiters' union announced at a meeting last week that a co-operative restaurant will be opened by the cooks on Court and Market streets. The project was originated by the officers of the union, who believe that it will be a big success. Regular meals will be served for 20 cents during the week, and a special Sunday meal will be served for 25 cents. Union waiters and union cooks who happen to be out of employment will be hired to do the cooking and serving. They will work under the supervision of experienced cooks and waiters, who will be retained permanently.
