The South Deering (Chicago, Ill.) Bulletin
May 24, 1962
Now with summer literally upon us, civic leaders in the area are wondering what is in store for our neighbors living in the East Side.
Rumors are a dime a dozen as to the plans of CORE and the NAACP- Negro organizations that are doing their utmost to take over Chicago for the black race.
Wade-ins and ball games to be staged in Calumet Park are on the program of these white-hating Negroes.
The question arises: Where is the East Side Civic League? Where is any organization in that East Side? Are the East Siders going to just sit by and allow their most prized possession to be lost?
Violence is not the answer but organizations are. With organization —the East Side can fight this mad plan of taking over all the beaches and lakeside areas by the black race.
Wake up, East Side, wake up.
