Lansing Last Week.

Lansing was quite lively last week—that is for Lansing. The Supreme Court was in session, all the Judges present, a dozen lawyers from Detroit, and from sundry other portions of the State, with a docket of fourteen cases for argument, and several important decisions pronounced and others expected.

The Board of Education were in session through the week, occupied, for the most part, by the affairs of the Agricultural College.

The Board of State Auditors were in session from and after the sixth.

The Board of Control of the Ste. Marie's canal held a session, and adjourned to Detroit, on Wednesday, to consider measures to accommodate the Lake Superior trade, by fixing another day for the closing of the canal.

Various of the Swamp Land Road Commissioners have been in attendance, for the purpose of consultation with the Governor and Attorney General, both of whom passed the week at Lansing.

What with Judges, State Officers, lawyers and litigants, the hotels have been crowded, a fact pleasant for landlords, but somewhat trying for guests, considering the intensely hot weather, without a shower, and almost without a breeze.
