FIRE DEPARTMENT NOTES.—Mr. J. Fleming, of Washington, representing Thomas K. Carsey, Brother & Co., of Baltimore, met the Board of Fire Wardens last night and sold them 1,200 feet of new paragon hose for the fire companies. The price paid was 50 cents per foot.

Chief Engineer Pettey is urging the Fire Wardens to purchase two new hose carriages to take the place of the hose carts now in use here.

Fire Warden Patterson and Driver Posey, of the Columbia company, have returned from Culpeper, where they purchased two horses for the city fire department.
