WHITE CONVERT IN A COLORED CHURCH

TOURIST ACCEPTS CHRIST AT FIRST BAPTIST, SOUTHSIDE.

On Monday night while a white tourist was passing through the Southside by way of Decatur street he passed the First Baptist Church. The pastor, Dr. W. L. Ransome was conducting revival services. A soulstirring hymn was being sung, which touched the heart of the motorist. He stopped his car and went in, taking a seat in the gallery.

The pastor asked the usual question, "Is there any one who wants to be saved?" A strange voice cried aloud from the gallery, "I want to be saved."

"Come on down to the anxious seat," said the pastor.

The strange tourist bowed his head and after many songs and prayers, he confessed religion and went about the congregation shaking glad hands and telling what a joy o'er his soul like sea billows roll, since Jesus came into his heart."

There was great rejoicing.
