The Globe of Friday evening contains the following—being the latest accounts received by last evening's mail: —

"Our Ohio news is auspicious. The first and only district heard from, that of Belmont, just beyond Wheeling, is redeemed from the Opposition. The democratic candidate for Congress has succeeded over the Whig incumbent, Mr Alexander, by a considerable majority; and Mr Shannon has obtained a great increase in the same quarter over his Federal competitor Governor Vance.

"The opening in Ohio is so far, then, in the highest degree, ominous of a glorious result in that great Republican Commonwealth."

"The air hath bubbles as the water hath, and do but blow them to their trials, The bubbles are out."—Shaks.
