FROM THE SALEM GAZETTE OF TUESDAY LAST
On Sunday evening, there was a very brilliant Aurora Borealis. Though never heard by us, we are credibly informed that this phenomenon is frequently accompanied with an audible hissing noise. Would not this indicate that this celestial phenomenon is in our immediate neighbourhood, as we know, that we may almost wash our hands in the rainbow which apparently bestrides the hemisphere of the Heavens?
[The phenomenon mentioned above was observed in Providence, on the same evening American.]
