AMSTERDAM, August 1.

Advices from India informs, that Hyder Ally, at the head of 20 or 40,000 men, had taken by assault, Nacour, Karrikal, Pornonse, and Gondlour, and that he had defeated in the kingdom of Feleer a body of English troops under Col. Baillie; that he was preparing to besiege Tanjour, Trichinopoly, Vellour, and other places; that the Mahrattas had gained a complete victory over the English, near Ponning; and that the son of Hyder Ally, at the head of 2000 cavalry, had pillaged St. Thomas.
